A young motorcyclist has died in a crash with a roundabout in Worcestershire.

The 22-year-old man was riding a Kawasaki ZX 680 bike when his bike collided with the roundabout between Norton Road and St Peter’s Drive in Worcester on Sunday (June 15).

The roundabout is also on the main A440 which skirts the city.

The motorbike rider crashed shortly after 9.30am and was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Mercia Police said Norton Road is likely to remain closed from the A4440 to the roundabout with the junctions of Crookbarrow Road and Talavera Road for several hours.

This is allow forensic examinations to continue and the motorbike to be recovered.

Google Traffic maps indicate the A4440 is shut from Ketch Roundabout where the road meets the A38 Worcester Road, to the roundabout by Norton Road where the crash took place.

Now officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the West Mercia force said: “At around 9.35am this morning a Kawasaki ZX 680 motorcycle collided with the roundabout between St Peter’s Drive and Norton Road in Worcester.

“The rider of the motorcycle, a 22-year-old man, sadly died at the scene.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who saw, or who has dashcam footage, of the collision itself or of the motorcycle in the minutes before it.
