The Kelea Foundation is partnering with long-time community fitness and recreation company, Glad Life Inc., to train new group fitness instructors.

During the course, from July 7 to Aug. 8, participants will learn from experts in the field, getting hands-on and practical experience in teaching as well as insights to the industry and job opportunities.

Participants also will gain important knowledge on inclusion and accessibility in fitness classes and leave with real life resources to help them in their own businesses. By the end of the program, participants will qualify to take the Athletics and Fitness Association of America Group Fitness Instruction certification test.

Participants will be given the opportunity to intern with the Kelea Foundation and its partners with high potential for being hired for teaching jobs right out of the program. The foundation’s goal is to build a team of diverse community members who are passionate about leading others in group exercise and recreational opportunities.

“If you are someone with a passion or serious interest, we encourage you to apply,” an announcement says. “Diversity is our strength, and we are interested in building this strength in fitness and recreation spaces in our community and through our programs.”
