Customers and regulars of an iconic Birmingham venue said the ‘future looks bleak’ after bosses revealed it would be closing at the end of this year.
After opening in 2021 as a multi-purpose venue, Hockley Social Club confirmed this year will be the last.
Operated by Digbeth Dining Club, Hockley Social Club is one of Birmingham’s premier locations for street food, music and comedy.

Announcing the news, Digbeth Dining Club said they were ‘immensely proud’ of what they had created inside the ‘beautiful space’.
Chiefs confirmed December 31 will be the final day of trade and HSC will ‘go out with a bang’.
The news led to an outpour of grief on social media. On Facebook. Chris Hoy said: “Utterly guttered, speechless.”
Lisa Grew commented: “So sad, love this place but feel it could be so much better.
“I feel it’s got much more potential but lovely staff and wish you all well, we will support you till you close.”
Michelle Randall added: “One of my favourite venues in Brum, I’ve had some great times here.
“I hope you guys pop up somewhere else.”
Chris Atherton said: “This is truly a sad day for Birmingham. Another great independent that will be hugely missed, the future of the city looks bleak.”
Neil Ormende posted: “Absolutely devastating news. Big love to all the team from us all at Birmingham Techno. We’re gutted but proud to have hosted events there.”
And Richard Andrews added: “Whatever the next chapter contains, I hope it’s as successful.”
