The British royal family is pretty much always the talk of the town, and even more interesting is the love story of the Prince and Princess of Wales. If anything, back when these two announced their engagement, fans couldn’t have been more fascinated about Kate Middleton’s becoming royalty through her relationship with Prince William.

As Middleton lives everyone’s dream as a princess and the couple truly share an incredibly loving bond, there have been quite a few viral rumors about how the two must have found and fallen in love with each other. When asked to address one of the same, the Princess didn’t hesitate to debunk the rumor, but proceeded to apologize to the Prince as well.

Back when the pair originally announced their engagement in November 2010 after being together for almost a decade, there was more than just excited buzz surrounding the Prince and Princess of Wales. Amidst people eagerly perking up to know more, there were also quite a few rumors about how the pair met and their mysterious royal love story.

One of these very rumors was a pretty viral story about Kate Middleton having a picture of William on her wall as a child. In an interview with ITV News soon after their engagement, she was asked about the same, to which she said, laughing (via YouTube),

He wishes. No, I had the Levi’s guy on my room wall, not a picture of William.

But while she initially said that, Middleton also proceeded to apologize to her then-fiance and now-husband, saying a meek ‘Sorry!‘ to him, laughing. In response, Prince William jokingly added, “It was me and Levi’s, honestly,” laughing himself. Guess even members of the Royal Household can’t stop themselves from a fun banter on the cameras, at times!

Kate Middleton “scuttled off feeling very shy” while first meeting Prince William!

While the rumor about the Princess of Wales being in a relationship with the Prince for a long time before even meeting him was debunked by her, Kate Middleton also admitted just how shy she was to meet her now-husband for the very first time. This was because Prince William hadn’t been there with them right from the beginning of their university years.

During the same interview with ITV News, the princess confessed to turning “bright red” in her first meeting with William, and even “scuttled off” simply because she was too “shy” about meeting him. More than two decades later, and now she is not only one of the royals but also shares three children with the prince.

Here’s exactly what she said:

I think I actually went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off feeling very shy about meeting you. And, actually, William wasn’t there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn’t there for the Fresher’s week, and so, it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other. But we did become very close friends from quite early on.

Well, that is an interesting tidbit about the love life of this royal pair, who have come a long way since first meeting at St Andrew’s University back in 2001 and starting to date in 2003 before getting engaged in 2010 and tying the knot a few months later. And for a love affair as ostensibly genuine and wholesome as theirs, we hope it lasts for all eternity.
