Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford announced a major ITV schedule change on Monday (June 16).
During today’s edition of the hit lunchtime programme, Ruth was joined by Olivia Attwood, Kelly Brook, and Nadia Sawalha to discuss the day’s top stories from the UK and beyond.
As the live episode wrapped up, she shared an important update about the programme’s schedule with the audience.
Ruth revealed that Loose Women will not be broadcast for the remainder of the week to accommodate Royal Ascot coverage.
“That’s it from us today, I’m afraid. It gets worse, we’re not on all week,” she announced, reports Belfast Live.
“ITV’s coverage of Ascot will be on, but we will be back same time next Monday. Until then, have a lovely week.”
This year’s edition of the prestigious Royal Ascot festival commences on Tuesday, June 17, continuing to Saturday, June 21.
Horse racing fans will be able to tune into the event from 1.30pm on ITV1 for the rest of this week, with coverage concluding at 6pm. The ITV lunchtime news will air at the earlier time of 1pm.
Loose Women is set to return to screens next Monday, June 23, at the usual time of 12.30pm.
Elsewhere on today’s show, the panel deliberated over Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer‘s recent decision to launch an inquiry into grooming gangs after he previously said that a nationwide probe wasn’t necessary.
“Hopefully, out of this, lessons will be learnt and things will change,” Nadia remarked, before Ruth said: “I think they’re looking for more than lessons learnt. They want people to be brought to account.”
The panel also spoke to Love Island’s Amy Hart, who was live in the studio to commemorate the popular dating show’s ten-year anniversary.
She candidly shared how her life took a positive turn after her well-known departure from the villa following the end of her relationship with Curtis Pritchard.
The programme also paid tribute to Lorraine producer, Helen Addis, who was honoured with an MBE for her contributions to cancer awareness and charitable fundraising. Notably, Helen is the founder of Lorraine’s Change and Check campaign.
Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm
