London police respond to recent altercation in front of Walmart

  • 16 June 2025

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) – A juvenile was arrested after an incident at the London Walmart.

This story will air live on Mountain News at 5:30 p.m.

London police said they were made aware of an altercation in the parking lot that was caught on camera and posted on social media.

Officer Hobie Daugherty with the London Police Department said this kind of behavior is not acceptable.

“It is not what we want our city to be represented as,” Daugherty said. “Our chief and our mayor are very adamant, that this kind of stuff can’t happen.”

Police said they arrested the minor and took them to the Breathitt County Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The minor was charged with strangulation (1st degree) and assault (4th degree).

Daugherty said if you see anything happening that you think could be illegal or dangerous, contact your local authorities.

“Everybody has a right to feel safe and that’s that’s what we want to to happen,” Daugherty said.

According to police more charges and arrests could be on the way.
