A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected hit and run. Emergency services descended on Princess Drive in Huyton shortly after 6.30pm on Monday, June 16.

Police received a report that a pedal cyclist and a Sur-ron bike had crashed on Princess Drive. The male on the Sur-ron bike then rode off, police said.

The male pedal cyclist has been taken to hospital with a serious injury. Witnesses reported seeing nine police vehicles at the scene and an air ambulance was spotted landing nearby.

Road closures are in place along Princess Drive and Gretton Road while emergency services deal with the incident. Police have asked motorists to avoid the area and find an alternative route.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may help with their investigation.
