The young residents of Weatherfield as a party is set to go wrong for all those in attendance in Coronation Street later this month.

It all begins when Aadi Alahan decides to shake off his stuffy image by inviting his mates for a night to remember at number 7.

But when things take a sinister turn the friends wish they could forget the night ever happened as a dramatic sequence of events rock the cobbles.

Aadi is coerced into throwing the midsummer party when Bernie Winter calls out the youngsters for being boring. But there is set to be nothing boring about this bash but things don’t go quite to plan.

Troublemaker Brody Michaelis seizes the chance to make some cash by tipping up with a bottle of LSD. With the party in full swing Aadi is furious to see Brody selling his drugs and throws him out.

But after Brody has gone Summer Spellman convinces Aadi and Nina Lucas to try it as she had some while in America.

Aadi divides the LSD into three cups and while Summer and Nina knock back theirs, Aadi is distracted by an incident and when he returns, he realises someone accidentally took his drink.

Meanwhile Lauren Bolton has left the house feeling unwell and finds herself in a nightmare situation, can she escape? Other characters attending the party are Dylan Wilson, Asha Alahan and Betsy Swain.

Still high on LSD, Nina and Summer let themselves into the darkened café. When they hear the sound of sirens, they cling to each other, terrified. What’s happened?

As the group come to terms with the disturbing events of the evening the aftermath is felt across the neighbourhood, will the truth of what happened come out?

The midsummer party episode is set to air next Monday, June 23, at 8pm on ITV1 and STV. Viewers can also watch the episode from 7am on ITVX and STV Player.

It comes after Cait Fitton (Lauren) and co-star Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, spoke to The Sun, teasing that those behind-the-scenes have developed a “fun” way to bring together the younger members of the cast.

“There is [going to] be something quite different in the near-near future where we see all the younger cast come together,” Cait said. “We really enjoyed that because nine times out of ten you don’t really get to see people unless you are working with them.

“Working with people our own age has been so much fun. It was two weeks of us non-stop altogether. I felt sorry for the crew and directors by the end of it but it was so much fun.”
