Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has collaborated with LearnPro Group to integrate XVR simulation technology at its newly opened Learning & Development College in Cookstown.
The partnership signifies a substantial advancement in emergency services training, providing immersive, scenario-based learning experiences which enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
The £50m L&D college project represents NIFRS’s most significant capital investment. The facility is designed to transform the training of fire and rescue personnel, offering state-of-the-art resources such as a Tactical Firefighting Facility, a Mock Fire Station, a Flood Water Facility, and a Call-Out Village. These resources enable the simulation of real-life emergency scenarios, ensuring responders acquire the skills and knowledge to manage complex situations effectively.
LearnPro Group’s XVR simulation technology plays a pivotal role in this transformation. It enables the creation of realistic, repeatable VR training scenarios that can be customised to specific operational needs. This technology allows trainees to engage in high-fidelity simulations, enhancing their decision-making, coordination, and communication skills in a controlled environment.
“We’ve loved working with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue over the last few years to embed XVR simulation technology into their training and assessment programme. We’ve been excitedly following the progress of their new state-of-the-art training centre from construction to its official launch. We’re beyond thrilled that XVR is playing a key role in advancing training methodologies, whilst contributing to the safety and effectiveness of emergency responders.”
Costi Karayannis, LearnPro Group CEO.
