A man was arrested and a knife and 4×4 were seized during police patrols in South Bristol.

Neighbourhood policing teams in Bedminster and South Bristol were carrying out proactive patrols when they noticed a 4×4 vehicle being driven suspiciously.

The vehicle quickly accelerated away after spotting police officers, arousing their suspicions further.

It then pulled into a dead-end in Hengrove, with no obvious reason for being there, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Police stopped the vehicle at around 1.15pm on Monday, June 16.

The driver, passenger and car were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Officers found seized a knife and a phone, and arrested the passenger, a man aged in his late-20s, who was interviewed and released under investigation.

The driver, aged in his mid-20s, was searched and reported for traffic offences and the vehicle was seized for having no insurance.
