It’s been more than two years since Leeds United set their club transfer record. But this summer looks like the summer where a new record will be set.
Georginio Rutter has already been and gone at Leeds United. But the £35.5million signing from Hoffenheim in January 2023 remains the Whites’ most expensive-ever signing.
Daniel Farke’s side now seem determined, and destined to set a new club record transfer this summer. Following promotion to the Premier League, it’s reported that Leeds United have a £150million transfer budget.
And already we’ve seen Farke put some of that money to use, with reports that Leeds United have agreed a £19million deal for Jaka Bijol at Udinese, which comes days after the club sealed a deal for Luka Nmecha.
What comes next for Leeds in the summer transfer window remains anyone’s guess. But it could likely be another striker signing, and it could well be Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, who Cottagers boss Marco Silva once described as a ‘proper quality striker’.

Leeds United have been linked with Muniz this summer. The Brazilian scored eight goals in 31 Premier League games last season, playing only 950 minutes in the top flight and boasting a better goals-per-minute than Erling Haaland. But a move for the former Middlesbrough flop seems difficult.
It’s understood that Fulham want £50million to sell Muniz this summer. But an emerging report from TeamTalk has revealed that Leeds United and the 49ers are only willing to spend £35million on the 24-year-old, who cost Fulham less than £7million to sign from Flamengo back in 2021.
The same report from TeamTalk goes on to add that Leeds ‘sources’ suggest that a potential move for the Fulham super-sub remains a tricky one as things stand, hinting that a move to Elland Road looks unlikely as things stand.

The latest on Leeds United’s striker search
Already we’ve seen plenty of rumours and stories of strikers being of interest at Elland Road. But right now there doesn’t seem to be any signings in the pipeline after the signing of Nmecha was confirmed.
Names like Josh Sargent is constantly being linked with Leeds United, though Whites fans don’t seem all that keen on the Norwich City man joining this summer.
Other than Muniz, there’s very little to report on the striker front. It’s more wide and attacking midfielders on the radar right now with Leeds United having submitted a bid for Habib Diarra at Strasbourg, as well as the ongoing pursuit of Manor Solomon at Spurs.
It seems clear that there’s interest in Muniz at Leeds, though, so this one is definitely one to keep an eye on this summer.
