It has been a busy year already for openings at the Trafford Centre, and now another huge fashion store has been confirmedSigns are up for Urban Outfitters which is to open a huge new store at the Trafford Centre(Image: Trafford Centre)

Hot on the heels of the opening of the largest JD sports store in the world, the Trafford Centre has now lined up another big fashion name for its first store inside the giant shopping mall.

For it hasn’t taken long to fill the Peel Avenue unit left vacant by baby retailer Mamas & Papas – who last month opened its big new store at the other end of the mall next to Marks & Spencer.

And it’s a popular fashion and lifestyle brand filling the space – with the signs going up this week to announce the news.

Shoppers will be pleased to hear it’s going to be a new Urban Outfitters store heading to the Trafford Centre.

It will become only the second Urban Outfitters in Greater Manchester, with the original store a hotspot for shoppers on Market Street in Manchester city centre.

The brand is known for its quirky range of fashion, lifestyle and homewear items with affordable price points, as well as branded products from the likes of Bench, Umbro and Ed Hardy.

The hoardings for the new store went up at the weekend, and have already provoked excitement on TikTok and Instagram among fans of the brand.

A Trafford Centre spokesperson said: “We’re delighted to confirm that Urban Outfitters is coming to Trafford Centre, opening on Upper Peel Avenue later in the year – another fantastic offering to our growing fashion line-up.”

The Urban Outfitters will sit in what is set to become a reinvigorated fashion hotspot in the mall in the coming months.

For, as the MEN reported earlier this year, a huge deal has been signed with fashion giant Inditex who is taking over the former M&S site on Peel Avenue and adjoining units for three of their biggest brands.

It will see the arrival of new fashion store Bershka, while popular brands Zara and Pull & Bear will both be moving to larger stores on Peel Avenue from their current locations in the mall.

They are due to open later in the summer at the centre.
