Leeds United have a number of attacking names on their radar this summer, as Daniel Farke looks to follow up the signing of striker Lukas Nmecha.
Signing a striker was vital for Leeds United this summer, especially given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Mateo Joseph’s future at the club.
Thankfully, Daniel Farke has acted swiftly. Leeds United have signed Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer and he’ll join in July 1st.
But behind the striker, Farke needs attacking additions. Leeds United remain keen on signing Manor Solomon on a permanent deal from Spurs although a deal for the Israeli international seems to have its obstacles right now.
There’s no shortage of attackers being linked with a move to Elland Road, but there doesn’t seem to be any close to completing a move either. One name who fits this category right now is Mario Stroeykens at Anderlecht.
The 20-year-old Belgian, who mainly operates as a no.10, scored four and assisted five more in 27 league appearances for the Belgian giants in 2024/25.

Recent reports revealed how Leeds United have held talks to sign Stroeykens this summer. It’s also claimed that Anderlecht will sell Stroeykens for £12million, which could make him a potentially shrewd purchase for Farke given the fact that he has a £150million transfer budget this summer, but that Leeds United have just spent £19million on Jaka Bijol.
The latest on Stroeykens comes from Belgian outlet HLN. They report that ‘Anderlecht must sell this summer to achieve its financial objectives’ and that Stroeykens is one of the players ‘seen by the outside world as the biggest potential departures’ at the club this summer.

HLN go on to confirm that Leeds United have ‘cautiously inquired about the transfer conditions’ whilst Marseille are also interested. But there has so far been no ‘concrete offers’ for Stroeykens this summer.

No doubt, Farke needs a new no.10 this summer, and it looks like we could even see a couple arrive in West Yorkshire with the latest suggestions that Brenden Aaronson could leave Leeds United this summer.
The American was a key source of criticism among fans last season. It’s now understood that Farke and the 49ers have agreed that a new, upgraded no.10 is needed, whilst Aaronson is thought to be weighing up his options, with interest from Germany.
So expect Aaronson to pay attention to what his club do in the transfer market. If Leeds sign just the one attacking midfielder this summer then Aaronson might be inclined to stay, and share the starting spot.
If a couple are brought in, whenever that might be, then Aaronson could quickly push for a move away from Leeds United.
