Popular restaurant chain Wagamama has dropped a major hint as to the opening date of the much-anticipated Cotswolds Designer Outlet just off the M5.

The restaurant has said it plans to open its doors at the centre on Wednesday, July 16.

Gloucestershire Live reports that the announcement is viewed as the clearest indication yet that the A46 shopping destination is set to welcome visitors shortly, with the grand opening scheduled in just over four weeks.

The outlet, attracting high-profile retailers such as Calvin Klein, Boss and M&S, is busy with preparations including staffing and shop fittings for the mid-summer launch.

Marking Wagamama’s first UK debut this year, the eatery is poised to offer customers with signature dishes like the chicken katsu curry and a selection of ramens, alongside the latest summer menu highlights aimed at personalisation and fresh, feel-good food.

Designed to accommodate 150 diners indoors along with an alfresco seating area for 56, the restaurant promises to operate seven days a week while generating 50 new jobs in the area, thus swelling the Wagamama portfolio to 166 establishments throughout the UK.

Regional Marketing Manager Emily Wharton spoke excitedly about the arrival: “We are so excited to open the doors to our brand-new restaurant in the Cotswolds at the new Cotswolds Designer Outlet in the summertime.

“Our benches will soon be welcoming the local community and visitors of the outlet, as we serve up our newest menu launch and fresh favourites.

“Our fantastic new team has been working hard to ensure we’ll bring our much-loved wagamama experience to our guests and they’re so excited to land in their beautiful new restaurant once work is complete.”

Customers will be able to enjoy a fresh new summer menu which forms part of its new brand platform ‘food is life’ that celebrates food’s “emotional power and cultural importance.”

Wagamama’s new summer menu features light and vibrant pho noodle soups with a clear yuzu broth and high-fibre, low-calorie konjac noodles. Guests can choose from chicken thigh, hoki fish, or king oyster mushroom, finished with herbs, red pepper, bean sprouts, and lime.

Fresh salads include a sweet chilli option with caramelised chicken or tofu, and a pad thai salad inspired by guest favourites. The menu also sees the introduction of the build-your-own donburi bowl, which allows guests to tailor their meal, with choices of protein, vegetables and toppings – plus a new lighter base option, cauliflower ‘rice’.

The Cotswolds Designer Outlet, poised to become a standout shopping destination for the area, has already stirred national excitement with its mix of luxury and mainstream brands.

200 Degrees is set to be one of the initial establishments to open at the new centre, enhancing its allure as a prime location for both retail therapy and coffee aficionados.

The construction work at the outlet centre is nearing its final stages.

The outlet, located on Platinum Drive, close to Dobbies garden centre, will be unveiled in two phases and forms part of a larger development that includes 1,500 new homes in the surrounding area.
