Victoria Beckham has reportedly been left “heartbroken” by son Brooklyn‘s decision to buy, rather than rent in LA following his well-documented feud with his family. It seems to suggest that the USA will be his home for the foreseeable future, quashing the hopes of those who’d hoped life abroad was just a temporary measure.

However, the former Posh Spice icon and her husband David reportedly also fear that Brooklyn could be left “trapped”, after hearing that his billionaire heiress wife Nicola Peltz owns the majority of the property. Her dad Nelson is the founder of investment firm Trian Funds Management, which contains $8.5 billion (£6.3 billion) in assets under management, while Nicola has developed her own career as an actress, director and writer, meaning that she didn’t struggle to make the lavish purchase. According to reports, her personal net worth is five times more than that of Brooklyn, at $50 million (£37.2 million).

According to one source reported in The Sun: “When it came to buying this house, of course [the Beckhams] weren’t just going to hand their son millions of pounds — what sort of message does that send?”

There are now fears that his relationship with Nicola could be on unequal footing, now that she reportedly owns a larger share of the couple’s home.

However, another source contradicted those claims, telling The Mirror that the current narrative being told is “cruel and baseless”.

“It’s disappointing—and frankly absurd—that anyone would try to twist Nicola and Brooklyn’s marriage, and this meaningful milestone of home ownership, into something toxic,” they claimed.

“Their relationship is grounded in love, respect, and commitment. The suggestion that Brooklyn is ‘trapped’ isn’t just false—it’s a deliberately cruel and baseless narrative aimed at undermining a strong, loving marriage.”

Express has approached representatives for Brooklyn, Nicola and the Beckhams for comment.

The news of their home ownership comes after an alleged feud between Brooklyn and his family, with David’s eldest son staying unusually silent when he landed himself a knighthood – something he’d been hoping to achieve for years.

Despite being in the same city at the time, Brooklyn and Nicola also failed to attend his birthday celebrations, and Brooklyn has reportedly now enforced a “no contact” rule with all of his family members.
