Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh was back at Royal Ascot again for day two of the event, and this time she packed a punch in a bold dress with vibrant pink accents. Her latest look is a lesson in statement dressing for summer, combining a sweeping neckline and full-bodied sleeves with a modern twist on floral prints.
The Duchess arrived at Ascot Racecourse alongside her husband, Prince Edward wearing what appears to be a custom version of the Suzannah London ‘Trixie‘ silk dress. The wide neckline, loose sleeves and billowy skirt make it an ideal choice for a hot summer’s day.

While florals are a common print choice for the spring and summer months, the bold almost photographic lilies on Sophie’s dress feel fresh and modern. The punchy pink and purple tones are a vibrant touch, and the Duchess chose to accentuate the pink iwith her bold, flower trimmed hat and clutch bag in the same tone.

Suzannah London dresses are a go-to choice for Sophie when it comes to formal occasions, and she wore another outfit by the designer the previous day at Ascot, featuring a sheer top layer which was studded with applique daisies. The Duchess wore the same dress the year before to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary at the event.

Joining Sophie for the second day of Ascot were other members of the Royal Family including the King and Queen, Princess Anne, Zara Tindall and the Prince of Wales. The Princess of Wales was not able to attend the event, but her mother, Carole Middleton arrived with her daughter-in-law, Alizee Thevenet. Carole wore a ME+EM dress in butter yellow, and was seen catching up with The King.
Royal Ascot runs from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 June 2025.
