Firefighters have spent five hours battling a huge blaze at Barr Beacon.
Grassland measuring 30 by 40 metres went up in flames at the nature reserve located on the border of Walsall and Great Barr at around 2pm this afternoon, June 19.
Three fire engines had rushed to the scene.

The inferno ripped across a large section of the park for several hours.
Fire crews left the scene at around 7.15pm after extinguishing the blaze.
West Midlands fire control told BirminghamLive it couldn’t confirm how the blaze had started “at this stage”.

A spokesperson said: “Three appliances attended the scene from 2pm to 7.15pm.
“Crews entered from the Barr Beacon access road.
“It was a stretch of grass on fire, measuring 30 by 40 metres.

“Crews were there for a considerable amount of time.
“[We] cannot confirm how it started, at this stage.”
Streetly residents raised their concerns over the blaze in a local neighbourhood Facebook group.
One person wrote: “Hope it’s under control soon.”
Another said: “I’m hoping it will be out by tomorrow morning when I walk [the] dogs.”
