Aaron Ramsdale could become Leeds United’s next summer signing.

Transfer rumours keep swirling around Elland Road ahead of Leeds United‘s return to the Premier League in August.

A whole host of players have been linked with a move to Leeds, including Ramsdale, who faced yet another relegation in his career with Southampton last season.

Leeds have made it no secret of their desire to sign a goalkeeper this season for Daniel Farke, and they may now have a clear route to address that concern after the latest update.

Ever since Illan Meslier lost his place under Farke, it seemed evident that the signing of a new number one would be high up on their list of priorities this summer.

The Whites were dealt a blow when they missed out on the signing of Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford, but they now have a huge opportunity to rectify that.

Via the Daily Echo (20 June), the Saints are now prepared to sanction an exit for Ramsdale, who is of interest to Leeds United.

The five-cap England international is said to be happy at Southampton, though, meaning any potential deal is likely to need a huge incentive for him to make the move.

Ramsdale is believed to have already considered the possibility of returning to the Saints if they achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Given his wretched record in the Premier League, Farke will be on a mission to prove his doubters wrong with Leeds next season, and the signing of a new goalkeeper will go a long way towards achieving that.

Of course, the Whites will need several more additions to have a fighting chance, with a new striker arrival also a necessity at Elland Road.

With pre-season still some time away yet, Leeds have no obstacles in the way when it comes to recruitment, and they need to get that aspect right this summer.
