Fabien Galthie has selected nine uncapped players in his France XV team to tackle an England XV at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on Saturday.

Gael Fickou will captain the side that features the return of Rabah Slimani, who pulls on a Les Bleus jersey for the first time in 2,071 days, having last played for his country at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Inexperienced France team

Slimani has enjoyed a real resurgence at Leinster after joining the Irish province following his departure from Clermont.

Capped Pau speedster Theo Attissogbe starts at full-back after starring on the wing for France in the Six Nations and is joined by uncapped wingers Maël Moustin and Alivereti Duguivalu.

Fijian Duguivalu is one of three foreign-born players in the matchday 23, along with Canadian Tyler Duguid in the second-row and South African-born replacement forward Jacobus van Tonder.

Fickou is joined by Émilien Gailleton in the centres while halfbacks Antoine Hastoy and Nolann Le Garrec have both played for the senior national team.

Mickaël Guillard, Killian Tixeront, Alexandre Fischer, Duguid, and Hugo Auradou feature in the back-five of the pack with Slimani, Gaëtan Barlot, and Baptiste Erdocio starting in the front-row.

Julien Marchand’s younger brother, Guillaume, is named on the bench in a 6-2 split in favour of the forwards, along with Paul Mallez, Demba Bamba, Romain Taofifenua, Jacobus van Tonder, and Cameron Woki.

Baptiste Jauneau and Léo Berdeu are the two replacement backs. Galthie was unable to select any players featuring in the Top 14 semi-finalists, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Bayonne and RC Toulon for the clash against the England XV.

In total nine players have yet to play for the senior national team with five included in the run-on team.
