Cultural celebrations, sounds of summer & ‘London Strong’ benefit concert

  • 20 June 2025

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Cultural celebrations, the sounds of summer and being Kentucky Strong are what’s at the top of this weekend, leaving no shortage of things to do in the Bluegrass!

KENTUCKY’S BIGGEST JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION

The state’s biggest Juneteenth celebration will be happening right here in Lexington!

This Saturday, the Soulteenth Fest will come to town, celebrating Black liberation and ingenuity with diverse music, art, agriculture, and food.

Among the different sights and sounds will be Marzz and Blaque, a popular group from the late 1990s.

Soulteenth Fest will also offer cooking demonstrations to watch alongside a vendor marketplace.

The event is free to attend at the Moondance Amphitheater from 2-9 p.m.

SUN-SOAKING HARMONY

Ever thought about soaking in the sun with a bit of harmony?

The Lexington Opera House is offering a “Sea, Sand & Song” barbershop presentation to Kentuckians on Saturday.

The show will feature four-part harmonies, quartets and ensembles.

Tickets are available online, with the show starting at 3 p.m.

KENTUCKIANS SUPPORTING KENTUCKIANS

Finally, you can support Kentucky tornado survivors at this weekend’s London Strong benefit concert.

The concert will feature six different bands, including The Creekers, Andrew Moore & Hooch as well as Lee Newton!

The free event will raise funds for those who lost everything after an EF-4 tornado ripped through the community on May 16.

The first performance is at 2 p.m.

If you have an event coming up that you would like highlighted, you can email Destiny at Destiny.Quinn@wkyt.com.
