Five Liverpool venues have been nominated in Deliveroo’s Restaurant Awards. The awards recognise Deliveroo’s most popular local partners, from independent burger joints to neighbourhood sushi restaurants and all the dishes and flavours in between.
Liverpool has bagged nominations in various categories including ‘best Chinese’, ‘best breakfast & coffee’, ‘best pan Asian’, and ‘regional restaurant of the year for North England & midlands’.
The local venues up for a Deliveroo award include:
- Regional Restaurant of the Year Shortlist – North England & Midlands: Yum Cha
- Best Indian & Nepalese: Bundobust
- Best Chinese: Yum Cha
- Best Chicken: Spitroast
- Best Breakfast & Coffee: Ezra and Gil
- Best Pan Asian: Zumuku Sushi
Yum Cha is part of the new generation of Chinese restaurants that takes the traditional and puts a modern twist on it. The restaurant boasts sites in Liverpool city, centre, Lark Lane and Warrington, with dim sum and roasted meats acting as the menu’s top items.

Bold Street’s Bundobust offers Indian street food with classics such as bundo chaat, vada pav and okra fries. Bundobust also boasts its own brewery which offers a range of drinks, including classic IPAs and lager.
Spitroast has a restaurant on Smithdown Road and a second on South Road in Waterloo, both of which have a loyal following, with some diners calling it ‘better than Nando’s’. The restaurant is also popular with footballers, and Jamie Carragher has previously been spotted at the Crosby venue.
Before heading to Liverpool, Ezra and Gil was known across Manchester’s Northern Quarter as one of the “busiest” brunch and coffee shops around. The company launched its first local site last year, occupying the unit previously used by Bouchon.

The final nominee on the list is Zumuku Sushi which brings authentic Japanese cuisine to Lark Lane. The restaurant was founded in Wilmslow with the menu comprising of a range of sushi platters and hot foods.
Voting is open now until 11:59pm on May 9 at deliveroorestaurantawards.com. Winners will be announced on 28 May 2025 via Deliveroo’s social media channels.
Deliveroo has recruited Tilly Ramsay – Celebrity MasterChef finalist and daughter of Gordon Ramsay – to the judging panel alongside Deliveroo founder Will Shu and food critic Jimi Famurewa.
Will Shu said the awards are all about spotlighting the restaurants that keep our towns and cities buzzing. He said: “These restaurants are the beating heart of our communities.
“They obsess over making sure every food delivery is a special moment for our customers – that’s something worth celebrating.”
