A casualty was rushed to hospital in Edinburgh after an incident near a Co-op supermarket in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were scrambled the scene at Dalry Road in the city at around 10.30am this morning, June 20, reports Edinburgh Live.

No information is available on their condition at this stage, but the patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The exact nature of the incident remains unclear.

One concerned passer-by said: “I am not sure what happened but the ambulance was there for awhile. I hope the person involved is okay.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10:31 to attend an incident on Dalry Road, Edinburgh.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
