For more than a decade, families of all ages have come together to enjoy a manmade beach in the heart of a city suburb.
Northfield Beach is a free event that includes arts and crafts, theatre, circus, live music and performances.
Sadly, it was cancelled in 2024 due to a lack of funding but now it’s back – thanks to the community rallying to make it happen this year.

Families were disappointed by last year’s closure and so organisers Northfield Community Partnership launched a Crowdfunder to raise money to bring it back.
Northfield Beach is back at Victoria Common for summer 2025
Rebecca Debenham, CEO of Northfield Community Partnership, said on the Crowdfunder: “We know how disappointed many families were last year that we were unable to bring you the Beach.
“This year, we need your support to help bring the Beach back! Please consider donating to our funding appeal. No matter how small your donation is, it will help us make sure we can bring the Beach back. Let’s work together to ensure this much-loved tradition returns! Thank you.”
And now it’s been announced that the beach is back for summer 2025!
But fundraising is continuing to enable the partnership to put on a programme of events for families to enjoy. You can make a donation via the Crowdfunder page here
