The widening gap between Prince Harry and the Royal family was once again evident at the recent birthday celebrations of the King, where the Duke of Sussex was noticeably missing.

The Trooping the Colour, which commemorates the monarch’s official birthday, saw King Charles celebrating with his immediate family, including Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Regrettably, Harry and his family were absent. After his High Court loss in May, the 40 year old Duke of Sussex expressed hope for a reconciliation with his father, but stated it wouldn’t be feasible until he could ensure the safety of his wife and children in the UK.

A Royal expert now suggests that the likelihood of Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, becoming frequent visitors to the UK and forming close bonds with their cousins is dwindling due to Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s very legitimate concerns.

“Meghan understandably feels scared about coming to the UK with the children,” says former Royal editor Duncan Larcombe. “The threats are real and genuine. The threat is from lunatics, radical protesters that might want to make a name for themselves by jumping in front of them. Then of course you have the worst type, the terrorist threat. And there’s no doubt Harry – and his family, as a result – is a huge target.”, reports the Mirror.

Meghan, 43, seems to be growing more at ease with sharing her children’s lives publicly – as evidenced by her viral Baby Momma dance video and a Disneyland holiday album posted on her social media. However, the prospect of her returning to the UK with them is another story.

A source told the Mirror that despite feeling more empowered these days, Meghan’s concerns about safety remain unchanged.

“In some ways she’s feeling stronger and she wants to share that,” our insider revealed. “But she’s still terrified of putting her kids at risk by coming back to the UK – any parent would panic if they were in Meghan’s shoes.

“So even though Harry is really missing his dad, especially after Trooping the Colour and Father’s Day, the security issues will probably always be a concern.

“He knows that things could’ve been so different if circumstances had unfolded differently, but it’s been five years since they left the UK and the chances of them returning, even for a visit, seem slim to none. It’s heartbreaking.”
