Edinburgh locals were filmed in a stunning video partying atop Arthur’s Seat with a gorgeous sunset in the background.

The unusual footage shows dozens of partygoers gathered atop the iconic Edinburgh landmark in Holyrood Park.

The Salisbury Craigs can be seen below them, complete with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city splayed out beyond.

Most idyllic of all, the sky is lit up by a beautiful sunset, illuminating the Firth of Forth in the distance.

The video shows dozens of locals dancing atop the mountain to house music. Large speakers can be seen on the mountainside, pumping music into the crowd.

A video of the rave was posted on social media with the caption: “Absolute scenes! Rave at Arthur’s Seat at sunset. What an experience! I will never forget that!”

One TikTok user commented on the sheer size of the crown gathered on the mountain, saying: “We used to do this back in the day but only a handful of us”.

Another added: “Looks bangin!”

A third posted: “Oh my” to which the poster commented, “Mate, it was something else!”

The video comes as a heatwave hit Edinburgh this past weekend, with temperatures climbing as high as 27C on Friday, June 20. Hot weather saw locals flock to green spaces across the city.

Arthur’s Seat is a dormant volcano in the centre of Edinburgh. Sitting at 251m above sea level, it provides excellent views of the city, according to Visit Scotland.
