A manhunt is continuing today after a violent assault outside shops in Birmingham.

A man suffered serious head injuries in the attack which happened at around 12.30pm on Dudley Road, Winson Green, yesterday (June 20).

He was rushed to hospital after receiving treatment from paramedics at the scene.

Footage of the attack was shared online.

West Midlands Police today said enquiries were still ongoing “to find the person responsible”. No arrests have been made.

A police cordon erected in Dudley Road yesterday has since been removed.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called to Dudley Road, Birmingham, shortly after 12.30pm after a man was found in the street with head injuries.

“Officers attended to assist Ambulance Service colleagues and the man was checked for injuries.

“It is believed the man was assaulted, with enquiries now ongoing to find the person responsible.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called to a medical incident on Dudley Road in Winson Green just before 12.30pm and sent an ambulance to the scene.

“On arrival, crews found a man with serious injuries who, following treatment, was conveyed to hospital.”
