A West Midlands Police CCTV appeal has been issued after a man was left seriously injured in a reported Birmingham city centre attack.

The attack allegedly left the male victim with “serious facial injuries” in the early hours of Sunday May 11.

The single-image appeal shows a bearded man wearing a blue hooded top, jeans, and blue and white trainers.

Investigating officer said they wish to speak to the man pictured following the reported assault.

The force said they have been conducting a “thorough review” of CCTV in the area but are now turning to the public for help.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said on June 22: “Recognise this man? We’d like to speak to him after a man was assaulted in central Birmingham.

“The man was on Broad Street in the early hours of Sunday 11 May when he was attacked and left with serious facial injuries.

“We’ve been investigating including a thorough review of CCTV, and we’re now asking for your help in identifying the man pictured.

“If you do recognise him, or have any information which could help our investigation, call us on 101 quoting crime reference 20/236594/25.”
