Liverpool star Kostas Tsimikas continues to be linked with a move to Leeds United.

Daniel Farke wants to sign players with Premier League experience to help his side in their survival battle next season.

Junior Firpo looks set to leave the Whites on a free transfer in the next week, so there will be a huge hole at left-back, which could be filled by the Anfield ace.

The Elland Road outfit have been given hope in their pursuit of Tsimikas, as the Reds are set to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in the coming weeks.

Famous commentator Ian Darke believes that the 29-year-old will leave Anfield this summer as a result of that deal and could thrive in Yorkshire.

Speaking to Liverpool News (22 June), he said: “I’m not sure what the inside track is within the club, but you would think that with Milos Kerkez’s signing from Bournemouth, it will be him and Robertson competing for the position.

“So, yes, it does look like he would become surplus to requirements, and of course, clubs do have to sort of balance the books, and there has been a throughput of players.

“I think while he hasn’t been a sensational signing for Liverpool, he has proved to be quite a useful one to rotate Robertson, here and there.

“I think he is the kind of player who would be a good signing for one of the promoted clubs.”

The Reds star looks set to fall even further behind in Arne Slot’s pecking order with Kerkez and Andy Robertson ahead of him, once the deal is completed.

Tsimikas has plenty of experience at the top level, featuring 115 times for the Premier League champions in his five years on Merseyside.

It would be a huge show of ambition if the 49ers could secure a deal for the Greece ace, who won a Carabao Cup, an FA Cup and a league title with the Reds as understudy.

The former Olympiakos man has notched 18 assists in his time in English football, proving that he can make a difference creatively when given a chance in the side.

He is also solid defensively and could benefit from stepping out of the shadow of Robertson with the Whites, with a fresh start in LS11.

The deal makes sense for all parties involved, the Peacocks get a top-quality player, the Merseysiders get a decent fee that they can use to reinvest in the squad, and the Greek international gets to play regularly, still at the elite level in an exciting new challenge.

Surely, the newly-promoted side can pull off a move amid the latest update from Darke as his future in L4 looks more uncertain than ever before.
