A police officer was assaulted after approaching a van in Merseyside. Merseyside Police shared the details of the incident on its Roads Policing Unit account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The post said a person was found parked up in a van when an officer arrested him on suspicion a number of offences, including drink driving and assault. The officer was assaulted during the arrest process, sustaining minor injuries.
The post said: “Following an incident in St Helens, a suspect was found parked up in a van nearby. Roads Policing Unit officer arrested the suspect for a number of offences including drink drive and assault. Our officer was assaulted during the process, sustaining minor injuries.”
