Prince George may only be 11-years-old, but already he has some seriously incredible aircraft knowledge. As second-in-line to the throne, Prince William and Princess Kate’s oldest son has watched a number of impressive flypasts over Buckingham Palace while growing up, which seems to have only sparked his interest in aircrafts even more.

While the young prince is often seen discussing jets with his father, it seems that George had to help his grandfather King Charles, 76, to identify a plane on Saturday during Trooping the Colour celebrations. According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, who spoke to The Mirror, Charles interrupted a chat between William and Kate to ask: “What is that?” as they look upwards.

William, 42, was seen telling his father: “Errr is that a Poseidon?” while looking at George for confirmation.

George then said in a confident four-word answer: “It’s a Poseidon, yeah.”

As well as enjoying watching planes, the prince is believed to enjoy flying them too.

Just last year, George took his first flying lesson with an instructor at an airfield close to his Windsor home, with William and Princess Kate watching on proudly from the ground.

It is believed the couple’s younger children Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, are yet to get behind the controls of a plane.

This is something Louis is likely to do in the future, with William and Kate’s youngest child also showing an interest in aircraft, often showing excitement when the Red Arrows fly over the Palace.

According to lip reading expert Nicola Hickling, the monarch acknowledged his grandson Louis’ love for the Red Arrows on Saturday when he was seen tapping the young royal on the shoulder before saying “ooh it’s your favourite plane!”

Louis then looked on in awe at the jets as they flew overhead.
