Jake Bijol is expected to become Leeds United’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
Albeit the same could be said for most European clubs, Leeds’ summer business has been fairly slow so far, with Lukas Nmecha their only confirmed arrival as of now.
Of course, with players away on holiday and the Club World Cup underway, activity is expected to heat up in the next few weeks, with a whole host of players linked with a move to Elland Road.
One of those expected to make the move officially is Udinese centre-back Bijol, with a new update emerging from Italy.

It is a near certainty that Bijol will be Leeds’ second signing ahead of their Premier League return, with it claimed by La Gazzetta Dello Sport (23 June, pg 31), that the Slovenian international “signed with Leeds United on Friday”.
Bijol was rumoured as a target for a while, but the length of time it took for a deal to be reached caused shock at Leeds.
Bijol was solid at Udinese last season.
However, with his arrival seemingly imminent, Udinese have already started work on his replacement, with the signing of Nicolo Bertola “almost done”.
As for the hold-up at Elland Road when it comes to announcing Bijol, people can only wonder, but all signs are certainly pointing towards the fact that it is a done deal.

Bijol’s addition will be an excellent one, though it can be used to detract from the fact that Leeds need to address concerns in other areas of the pitch.
Signing a new number nine will be a necessity if they are to have any chance of staying in the Premier League, with a new goalkeeper also surely high up on their list of priorities.
As for the latter, Aaron Ramsdale’s addition may be welcomed at Elland Road, after it was revealed he could leave Southampton this summer.
