PBS, the Maltese national broadcaster, has confirmed that The Voice Kids Malta will select the Maltese representative for Junior Eurovision 2025.
PBS confirmed their participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 today. They also confirmed that the winner of the upcoming second season of The Voice Kids Malta will represent the country in Tbilisi.
Applications for The Voice Kids Malta are now open. Applicants must apply with an original song, which will be their potential Junior Eurovision entry. The finalists of The Voice Kids Malta will perform these songs during the Grand Final and the winner will represent Malta in Tbilisi.
The application rules are as follows:
- Artists must be aged between 9 and 14 on December 13, 2025.
- Original songs must be in English and/or Maltese. Other languages may be used in songs, provided they do not count for more than 40% of the lyrics.
- Artists may sing both covers and original songs during their participation but they must perform their potential Junior Eurovision entries during the final.
- Songs must suit the performer. It is recommended that the artists are involved in the songwriting process.
- The Maltese representative for Junior Eurovision 2024, Ramires Sciberras, may not apply.

Ramires Sciberras represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid with “Stilla ċkejkna”. He finished 5th in the final with 153 points. This was the first Junior Eurovision entry to be performed entirely in Maltese and Malta’s best result since 2018.
Junior Eurovision 2025
Junior Eurovision 2025 will be held on December 13 in Tbilisi after Andria Putkaradze gave Georgia their record-breaking fourth victory with “To My Mom”.

In addition, Lithuania is examining their return to the competition in 2025. Estonia and Germany have both withdrawn from the competition. The following broadcasters have confirmed they have no plans to return:

Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and has gone on to win the contest twice. In 2013, on their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start”. She was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015, Destiny Chukunyere took victory in Sofia with the song “Not My Soul”. The country has hosted the contest twice, the first time in 2014 and then again in 2016.
