Coronation Street’s Andy Whyment has been supported by his co-stars as he shared a relationship update. The soap star is renowned for his role as Kirk Sutherland on the Cobbles.
The 44-year-old has played the character in Weatherfield since 2000. He has been a major part of some of the long-running soap’s most dramatic storylines as he had a rollercoaster romance with Fiz Brown before he found love with Beth Tinker.
However, he was heartbroken last year when his onscreen wife, Beth, departed the show. Away from the screen, the actor’s life is far less turbulent as he enjoys a happy family life with his wife Nichola.

They are the proud parents of two children and Andy shared a special update today. Taking to Instagram, Andy shared several snaps of him and his wife as they celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.
The soap star captioned the post: “18 years married to @nicski31 Happy Anniversary babe Love You Forever xxx.” Andy’s Coronation Street co-stars rushed to the comments to send their congratulations.
His on-screen wife Lisa George (Beth Tinker) said: “Happy anniversary mate” while Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass, wrote: “Happy anniversary guys!” with a red love heart emoji.

The happy couple have been married since 2007 and share two children named Thomas and Hollie. Andy swooned over his wife in an interview with OK! Magazine in 2017 as he said he is a lucky man.
He said: “I’ve been punching above my weight for years – she’s gorgeous! I’m a very lucky bloke. We’ve been together 14 years and we just don’t argue. We get on so well.”
Kirk has recently been at the centre of a major storyline as Beth’s son Craig (Colson Smith) was killed by newcomer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton). Andy took to Instagram to wish Colson good luck as he exited the soap.
Andy wrote: “Took this picture just after we’d filmed the scene when Craig passed away, you’ve been amazing @colsonjsmith and should be very proud of what you’ve achieved on @coronationstreet. You will be missed.”
