Ariana Grande has supported an open letter calling for US President Donald Trump to be impeached, following his decision to bomb nuclear sites in Iran over the weekend.

A statement was made on X by Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on June 22nd, which said: “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorisation is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers.”

She continued: “He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

This statement was subsequently reposted by Grande to her followers on Instagram Stories, thus displaying her support for Ocasio-Cortez’s calls.

It comes after Trump launched a series of attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities on the night of June 21st, following mounting threats and attacks by Israel.

Trump claimed the American strikes had “completely and totally obliterated” the country’s potential nuclear capabilities. However, the extent of the damage is unclear.

Many opposing politicians and figures are calling for Trump’s impeachment as he did not seek congressional approval before sending the command for the strikes, as is normally standard practice for any such drastic decisions regarding America’s role in international affairs.

Grande has been an outspoken critic of the president on many other occasions and issues besides this, including when she joined over 100 stars such as Pedro Pascal and Orville Peck by signing an open letter urging Trump not to slash funding for LGBTQ+ suicide prevention.

The singer is also creating a prominent standing in Hollywood currently, in the lead up to the second instalment of Wicked in November, where she stars as Glinda the Good. She is also reportedly being eyed to take one of the lead roles in Meet the Parents 4, which is slated for release on November 25th, 2026.
