A man has been charged with alleged explosives offences after a property was searched in Wigan.

It is alleged that suspicious items were discovered at a property in Kitt Green on Saturday, June 14, with several items recovered.

Greater Manchester Police says a 25-year-old man was arrested following the search.

He has since been charged and named ahead of an appearance in court later today (June 24).

Ryan Baybutt, of Belvedere Place, Wigan, has been charged with manufacturing or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances contrary to Section 4 of the Explosives Act.

Baybutt was remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance in Manchester today.
