A RARE job opportunity has become available at the King’s official residence in Scotland.
A security officer is being sought at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

The role has been posted on the Royal Family’s official website.

“As The King’s official residence in Scotland, The Palace of Holyroodhouse welcomes thousands of visitors from around the world, as well as hosting a calendar of Royal events.
“Joining our team of security officers, you’ll help to maintain a safe and secure environment throughout The Palace and grounds.”
Applicants are expected to have experience working in the police, military or security services.
Security officers are responsible for the perimeter of the capital building and the chosen candidate will be expected to carry out patrols and respond to incidents.
The application also states that security officers are expected to work “occasionally at height or in confined spaces”.
The position offers a pay of £28,000 a year.
