Ange Postecoglou brought in some serious quality during his time at Celtic.
Whether the Celtic hero shopped in the Japanese market or dipped into English football, many players have gone on to become huge successes.
Brendan Rodgers has benefited from that, including last season when Celtic secured the double and narrowly missed out on cleaning house on the domestic scene.
Yes, most of the headlines have been understandably geared towards players like Daizen Maeda and captain Callum McGregor.
But Charlie Mulgrew noted another important figure inside the Celtic ranks.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is Celtic’s starting centre-back; it’s just dependent on whether he is available or not, because of his injury issues.
One thing is for sure, Mulgrew certainly sees the USMNT international as a ‘huge player’ and reacted to the transfer noise around the player.
Carter-Vickers has been linked to Leeds United, amongst others, but he told PLZ Soccer that Celtic’s stance on him is clear.
“I am sure they will want to keep Carter-Vickers,” said Mulgrew. “I have seen him linked somewhere, so I am sure he is a huge player.”
Carter-Vickers’ WhoScored rating in 2024/25 season
This is an interesting one because Celtic had a mixed time at the back last season, despite starting the campaign, from back to front, like a house on fire.
Carter-Vickers, who was signed by Postecoglou from Tottenham in 2021, racked up 34 matches in the Premiership and Europe, as well as seven domestic cup games.
Many think that Liam Scales and Auston Trusty are the issues, and another centre-back is needed to play alongside the American.
And now fans wait to see what Rodgers will do.
