Viewers of Race Across the World witnessed Fin Gough and Sioned Cray secure third place on the BBC show, narrowly missing out to the victorious Caroline and Tom Bridge duo.

Despite not scooping the £20,000 jackpot, the now 20-year-old Sioned took time to express gratitude for all the support received.

However, fans were quick to voice their requests after Sioned shared an emotional video message.

In her video, she declared: “I’m going to get straight into it before I start rambling. The whole race it felt like we needed to win, at the end it admittedly felt disappointing all because of competitiveness and being desperate to be the best, always.

“However, that being said, after returning, I soon realised that we were winners regardless. Watching it all back and seeing the growth, both in myself and Fin individually as well as together, highlighted that for me.

“The experience as a whole and what we gained from it is the true prize and having the title of being winners would’ve’ just been a bonus, that’s most definitely, not that deep.I feel like I owe a whole load of thank you’s, and to be honest, I’m struggling with where to start.”

The BBC sensation also made a point to acknowledge the efforts of the team behind the scenes of the show, particularly those who managed their antics throughout the intense journey, reports Plymouth Live.

Sioned candidly revealed how the crew endured their squabbles, indecision, and the typical trials of travelling as teenagers over the thrilling two-month adventure.

However, she disclosed: “We shared a lot of funny and emotional moments which are now my core memories for life.”

Despite the occasional desire for assistance from the crew, Sioned revealed they’re thankful that intervention was minimal as it afforded them valuable growth and complete immersion in the experience.

She went on to express gratitude to the BBC team and fellow competitors, noting that bonds formed during the competition have blossomed into lifelong friendships. Sioned remarked: “We now can call them lifelong friends, and yes we have 60-year-old best friends!”

The response to their journey was overwhelming, with numerous viewers pleading for Sioned and Fin to launch their own travel series.

One viewer pleaded on the video: “Nooooooooo, can’t believe it’s over. Best one yet and you’re all lovely people. You should both do a YouTube travel channel, and/or team up with some of the others. You’d get lots of views.”

Another fan praised: “You two were brilliant, and hopefully, see you both back on our screens soon!” Caroline, the Race Across the World champion, added: “That could have been your presenting audition as you nailed it. Born to the job and such lovely sentiments as always my dear friend.”

Someone else wrote: “Sioned me and the kids (12 year old boy and 10 year old girl! ) are desperate to see more of you and Fin – hoping you can get a gig presenting/your own show on s4c? We fell in love with you both on the show!” Another endorsement came from a commenter stating: “You and Fin could be an awesome presenter duo!”
