A man from Bristol has been charged with drugs offences after a drone was intercepted flying over a prison 40 miles away in Wiltshire.

Oliver Onyeahasi has been charged with ‘being concerned in the supply of’ cocaine, cannabis, anabolic steroids and a Class C drug.

The 25-year-old, from Aberdeen Road in Cotham in Bristol, has been released on bail and must appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court on July 16.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire police said the charge was brought ‘after a drone was intercepted at HMP Erlestoke which was attempting to convey in controlled drugs’.

That incident happened back in the early hours of October 1, 2023.
