In research by bathroom manufacturer nuie, the survey of 2,000 adults revealed unusual bathroom habits across Wales.

One in six admit to falling asleep in the bath—four per cent more than the UK average—while six per cent use their bathroom as a hideout from their children.

Interestingly, 15 per cent of Welsh respondents have washed clothes in the sink to save on energy costs.

Exercise enthusiasts make up eight per cent, while four per cent have napped on their bathroom floor.

A further four per cent have drunk bath water.

Colm Lalor, commercial director at nuie, said: “The bathroom is a private sanctuary for Brits to be themselves.

“The revelation of Wales’ strangest habits only reinforces the fact that the bathroom is the most important room in the house.”

Only one per cent of Welsh residents have taken a business call or practised a presentation in their bathroom.
