During his rise in the boxing world, there is one person in particular who hasn’t been on board with what Jake Paul is doing.
Paul has proved Dana White wrong on several occasions by facing and beating multiple former UFC stars since turning professional in 2020.
Though the comments that have been exchanged between them have covered various subjects, Paul blames White for causing two of the biggest criticisms that he often hears about his boxing career.
‘The Problem Child’ is set to return to the ring this weekend when he faces Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Much to White’s surprise, Paul’s next bout will clash with UFC 317, which sees one of the promotion’s biggest events of the year take place in Las Vegas.
Jake Paul claimed that he’d knock Dana White out in a Las Vegas club despite seeing things from his perspective
Ahead of his first clash with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, Jake Paul spoke to the media where he commented on Dana White’s criticism of his boxing career.
Paul, who first became famous via various social media platforms, had knocked out former UFC star Ben Askren in the first round earlier that year.
After White predicted that Askren would win the fight, he took a similar stance in regards to the matchup with Woodley, though he did state that the former champion was far past his prime.
Paul spoke in an interview with MMA Fighting where he revealed that he could understand where White was coming from with his statements.
“We go back and forth, at the end of the day. He’s always talking about me, I’m always talking about him. He’s trying to discredit what I’m doing.
“You know, one moment he loves Tyron Woodley and he’s a five-time UFC champion—and Dana White’s saying, ‘He’s one of the greatest welterweights ever’—and then, boom, 12 months later he sucks. Jake Paul’s fighting him, blah blah blah.
“He’s just trying to discredit anything that I do. Which, of course, that’s what I would do if I was in his position. He’s a smart guy.”
When Paul was asked how he sees the feud between him and White coming to an end, he suggested that before the hatchet could be buried, there may be a physical altercation.
“I think it ends with me running into him in a club in Vegas and knocking him the f*** out.”
Jake Paul continued to prove Dana White wrong with his wins over Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva
After narrowly beating Tyron Woodley via a split decision in their first encounter, Jake Paul made a statement in their rematch by knocking the former champion out.
His next outing would come against an opponent that Dana White believed would be too risky of a fight for Paul to entertain at this stage in his boxing career.
After departing the UFC in 2020, the legendary former fighter Anderson Silva crossed over into boxing where he beat the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Tito Ortiz.
In October of 2022, Paul and Silva faced off with ‘The Problem Child’ beating ‘The Spider’ over 8 rounds with all three scorecards being in his favor.
