Stokes Croft pizzeria Pizza Is Lovely has shown the damage caused to their restaurant after a car ploughed into the restaurant on Sunday, June 22.

Emergency services were quick to attend to the scene, with Stokes Croft from Ashley Road to Thomas Street temporarily closing southbound.

The restaurant, which only opened in the Carriageworks last month, said on Monday, June 23: “As you know and will have seen, a car smashed into the front of the pizzeria, amazingly no one was hurt which is the main thing in all of this!

“There is some significant damage to the building and we are speaking with the insurers right now, as a result we will not be open for the time being but hoping to be back serving the good people of Stokes Croft within the next week or two!

“Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out to check how we are doing and offered kind words of support, it means so much to all of us here! Will keep you all posted when we know more, big love from the whole Pizza Is Lovely crew!”
