A RAP legend will kick off his UK tour in Glasgow as he returns to the UK for the first time in a decade.

Redman will play the city’s O2 Academy this August for the first show of his four date Muddy Waters Too tour.

The rap legend hasn’t gigged in the UK in over a decade

He has not played a gig in the UK in over a decade so this stint of shows promise to be unforgettable with the rap icon set to thrill Scots fans.

The Glasgow show will kick off the tour on Tuesday, August 5, followed by stops at Manchester‘s O2 Ritz and Bristol‘s O2 Academy.

Redman will round off his highly-anticipated tour with a perfromance at Crustal Palace Bowl South Facing Festival where he will co-headlne with Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Chalu 2na and Shortee Blitz.

The rap icon is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic and entertaining rappers of his era.

The 55-year-old, from Newark in New Jersey, dropped his ninth studio album late last year after a ten year hiatus.

His newest album, Muddy Waters Too, is the sequel to his classic 1996 album of the same name.

Born Reggie Noble, Redman is also a DJ, producer and actor.

He was one of the original members of EPMD’s Hit Squad, which later became Def Squad.

He last performed in the UK with Method Man back in 2016 in a series of headline shows.

The rapper has also collaborated with Tupac, Mary J Blige, Christina Aguilera, Pink and The Offspring.

Tickets for the Glasgow show are available now.
