Earlier today forensic teams were seen combing the scene which remained taped off to the public as police investigated the incident.
Officers in specialist suits were pictured examining the scene outside the Artisan Bar on London Road in the city’s Abbeyhill.
The street remained cordoned off from Safari lounge bar on Cadzow Place to the junction on Montrose Terrace, with homes and businesses blocked off.
Police said they were carrying out extensive enquiries and any locals with concerns or information can approach officers.
One local resident said: “The entire pavement along London Road is cordoned off with police tape and also a section on Cadzow.
“Several businesses are blocked off and there are lots of police on scene. It’s quite a busy road, I think people are wondering what’s going on.”
The Record understands the incident is not currently linked to recent gang-related violence which has swept the capital and spread to the west coast in recent weeks.
