EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders fans better brace for a schedule shakeup as the summer storylines spell drama for the people of Walford.

The BBC One soap will see its usual calendar rearranged so that Wimbledon and the Women’s Euro 2025 can take centre stage.

Fret not as EastEnders will still air the same number of weekly episodes, just in a lightly rejigged fashion.

Instead of sticking to the usual schedule of airing one episode daily from Monday to Thursday, the soap will put out a double bill on Wednesday, and one episode each on Thursday and Friday.

These changes will affect the week commencing on 7 July, with no episodes making the air on Monday, 7 July and Tuesday, 8 July.

This schedule shakeup follows that occurring at the end of June, with two double bills airing on Monday, 30 June and Tuesday, 1 July to air Wimbledon matches later in the week.

EastEnders has seen Lauren Branning and Peter Beale are set to reconcile after their sad split.

The couple have been struggling to cope with their son Jimmy’s diagnosis and Lauren’s addiction, but it’s in for a reunion as Kathy Beale encourages them to set their differences aside.

But a huge threat looms over the pair as Peter’s mum Cindy issues a warning to Lauren, and it may just have to do with her one-off kiss with Zack Hudson. Does Cindy know and will she tell Peter?

Elsewhere, Elaine Knight is facing the consequences of her reckless actions at the Vic.

Upset over the split from George, Elaine hasn’t been thinking clearly, going as far as jeopardising the pub’s future by serving alcohol to minors.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
