Premier KPS Mini Market in Belle Isle has seen off competition from across the UK and Ireland to win a top award from one of Europe’s biggest employers’ associations.

Its owner, Karan Patel, was named Soft Drinks Retailer of the Year at the exclusive 2025 Fed Awards. The award was presented by Adrian Howe, head of franchise development at award sponsor Rockstar.

The glittering ceremony was hosted by TV presenter, magician and YouTube sensation Ben Hanlin at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham on Wednesday 18 June 2025.

The judges said: “Soft drinks sales have boomed by 20% following moves to double the previous space given to this category. A focus on range has also included adding all new launches, as well as responsibly sourced lines from the USA, China, Japan and Vietnam.”

With a huge chilled range and flavours from around the world, Karan Patel’s soft drinks aisle has become a destination in itself. From trending launches to international favourites, customers keep coming back for the choice, the value, and the chance to discover something new every visit.

Karan, who unfortunately could not attend the awards evening, said:

“It is brilliant to be recognised like this in the retail industry and to be showcased on the national stage is a great feeling.”
