Organised crime police in Birmingham have made three ‘drug dealing’ arrests after twin raids in the city on unconnected jobs.
West Midlands Police’s Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation team (SOCEX) swooped and raided an address in Woodstock Road in Handsworth on Wednesday (June 25) morning.
Four-legged detective, PD Lucky, lived up to its name and guided officers to a ‘large amount of crack cocaine and heroin’.

Officers arrested Hemant Patel, of Woodstock Road, on suspicion dealing Class A drugs.
While elsewhere in the city the SOCEX team arrested another man, Sidhi Khan of Park Road in Sparkhill, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs in an unconnected matter.
While Zafran Khan, 42, also of Park Road, was previously charged with the same offences and has been remanded to appear at court later this year.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “A man has been charged with drug offences after we carried out a warrant at an address in Handsworth.
“Yesterday morning, officers from our Serious Organised Crime and Exploitation team (SOCEX) carried out a warrant at an address in Woodstock Road.
“One of our police dogs, PD Lucky, also joined the warrant and helped guide officers to a large amount of crack cocaine and heroin.
“Hemant Patel was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
“The 48-year-old has now been charged with being possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
“He was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (26 June).”

The statement continues: “It comes as officers from the SOCEX team yesterday also arrested a man in Park Road, Sparkhill, as part of a separate drugs investigation.
“Sidhi Khan has now been charged with supplying crack cocaine and heroin.
“The 33-year-old appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (25 June).
“A 42-year-old man, Zafran Khan, was previously charged with the same offences and remanded to appear at court later this year.
