Three defendants are still due to face trial in October

A murder charge has been dismissed against one of the defendants in the case of Eddie Kinuthia’s death in 2023.
Eddie King Kinuthia was 19 when he was fatally stabbed in Grosvenor Road, near his home in St Pauls, at around 11pm on July 21, 2023.
Bristol Crown Court dismissed a charge of murder against 28-year-old Cartell Williams at a hearing on Tuesday, June 24.
Williams continues to serve a prison term for other offences.
Avon and Somerset Police said the cases against Zachariah Talbert Young, 26, of Easton, and Paul Elijah Hayden, 21, of Hanham, are continuing.
The pair are remanded in custody and will face trial in October for the alleged murder of Eddie and the alleged attempted murder of a teenager in a separate incident in February 2024.
During the hearing, they both denied the charges against them.
The police said it continues to work with the Crown Prosecution Service in the meantime.
Another defendant, Remi Hitchcock, 29, of Easton, also faces trial in October.
He had previously appeared in court to deny a charge of assisting an offender, in connection with Eddie’s death, and remains on court bail
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Eddie’s family are still waiting for justice with dignity and strength, and they are always in our thoughts.”
