Meghan Markle’s new business venture is being perceived by many as a nod to Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex is gearing up for the debut of her very first wine, a Napa Valley rosé, set to release on Tuesday, July 1.
This date holds particular importance for the couple, not only marking the birthday of Harry’s late mom Princess Diana, but also commemorating the day they started talking. Diana, who tragically died in a car accident in Paris in 1997, would have turned 64 on July 1, 1961, this year.
Harry reminisced about his initial contact with Meghan after spotting her photo on Instagram, which he documented in his memoir, Spare.
The Duke of Sussex recounted, “It occurred to me how uncanny, how surreal, how bizarre, that this marathon conversation should have begun on July 1, 2016. My mother’s fifty-fifth birthday.”
Yet, there was buzz among fans anticipating Meghan’s latest venture.
On Instagram, an eager user posted, “Yes this is what I’ve been waiting for.”
Adding to the excitement, a supporter stated on X, “Not really a wine drinker, but I may suddenly become one.”
Another enthused, “And coming straight from Napa. Love it x her!”
As Ever’s rosé has been characterized by its “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality an a lasting finish.”
This custom blend has been announced “just in time for summer.”
