In the latest incident Marcus O’Garro fled on foot as was about to be searched by officers who approached him in Sutton New Road in Erdington on June 19 after reports that he was known to carry weapons.
The chase involved officers in vehicles, on foot and on a bicycle.
However, it came to end a short time later in New Road where he admitted to them he had a knife which officers then pulled from his coat pocket.
O’Garro, of Endwood Court Road, Handsworth, was charged with possession of the blade shortly afterwards. He had previously been given a suspended sentenced for knife possession last month.

He appeared before Birmingham magistrates the following day and was given a nine-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to possession of a knife.
He was sentenced to nine months because the suspended sentence he was given in May was activated by the bench.
The defendant was arrested by officers based with the Guardian Taskforce, who tackle serious youth violence including knife crime.
Ch Insp Dave Amos, head of the Guardian Taskforce, said: “This was excellent work by Guardian officers and shows just how effective stop and search can be. The footage shows just how relentless the team were in pursuing O’Gavro when he fled and how they were able to relay information about him and his description to colleagues so that the net closed in on him.”
